When you can't answer, from a roof, a crawlspace or a customer's living room, the caller gets a text from your business within seconds so they don't move on to the next name on the list.
Why it matters
When someone needs a tradesperson, they often call down the list until somebody answers. Invoca's July 2026 home-services benchmark found only about half of callers to home-services businesses actually reach a person.[1] A quick text keeps the conversation with you.
How it works
- A customer calls your business number and nobody picks up.
- Within seconds they get a text from your business, for example: "Sorry we missed your call. This is [Your Business]. What can we help with?"
- They reply by text. Replies come straight to your phone and email, and you can answer from your business texting number when you're free.
- Repeat calls from the same person are handled so they don't get a pile of duplicate texts.
Keeping your existing number
In most cases you keep the number your customers already call. Depending on your phone carrier we either forward unanswered calls to a texting-enabled line or, for eligible landlines, text-enable your existing number. We confirm the right setup for your carrier during the free audit.
Business texting in the US has to be registered with the carriers before it goes live. We handle that registration. Approval usually takes one to three weeks, and call forwarding can be in place before then.
